Calloway County Public Library is pleased to announce that Preserving Memory: The Mayfield/St. James AME Church History Project will be the third installment of the 2025 Murray State University Department of History and Calloway County Public Library Community Spring History Lecture Series. The program will be presented on Sunday, April 6, at 2:00 PM.

Dr. David Pizzo, PhD, stated, “This Murray State University student-led panel discussion will examine the nature of the oral history project occurring in Mayfield, Kentucky. In the aftermath of the December 2021 tornado that inflicted severe destruction on the town and the church, church members and students at Murray State University have partnered to recount and preserve the church's history and its historic significance to the region. This panel will recount those important and ongoing efforts.

The featured panelists will be Dr. David Pizzo, PhD; Greg Waldrop; Jack Worley; Cark Mike; Austin Miller; and Jay Smith.

All interested community members are invited to attend.
